The BCR-ABL FISH test is an important diagnostic tool. This test uses Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) to detect the BCR-ABL1 fusion gene (Philadelphia chromosome), characteristic of chronic myeloid leukemia and some acute leukemias.
